Rapid City, SD. –Rodeo Rapid City 2025 kicked off with the first performance, which set the
stage for an unforgettable weekend of rodeo action. Tonight’s event not only showcased the
incredible talent of top competitors but also highlighted the go round wins, which set the tone for
the rest of the competitors as the weekend progresses.
In Bareback riding, Colt Eck (Fort Scott, KS) dominated the event with an outstanding ride,
scoring 85.5 – Points to secure a solid chance for the championship title. Demonstrating
exceptional control and power, Eck rode with precision and confidence, leaving the crowd in
awe. In the Steer Westling, Riley Reiss (Manning, ND) secured victory in the first performance
with a time of 4.4, executing a flawless takedown that solidified Reiss in the run for the money.
Team Roping saw an incredible display of coordination and timing as Weston Mills (Gillete,
WY) & Nevada Berquist (piedmont, SD) worked seamlessly together to stop the clock at 5.3,
showcasing their synergy and expertise. In the Saddle Bronc Riding, Brady Hill (Onida, SD)
delivered a breathtaking ride, earning 80 and proving once again why Hill is a force to be
reckoned with in the sport.
Tie Down Roping was a battle of speed and precision, with Tyler Milligan (Pawhuska, OK)
clinching the first performance win with an impressive 8.5, demonstrating perfect technique
under pressure. Barrel racing brought the crowd to its feet as Lisa Lockhart (Oelrichs, SD)
made her run with agility, speed and confidence, posting an incredible time of 13.25 to take the
lead in the rodeo thus far. Finally, in Bull Riding, Jake Lockwood (Volborg, MT) held on for an
electrifying ride, with a score of 87.5 and delivering a heart-stopping performance that capped
off an unforgettable first night of rodeo action.
