It was almost a carbon-copy of last night’s win, the Twins scoring 10 runs in back-to-back games against the Athletics to get their second straight win over the team, winning 10-4 two nights ago and 10-3 last night.
The Twins were carried by Willi Castro who hit not one, but two homers in the contest and scored two runs. Trevor Larnach also went deep for Minnesota to get in on the fun. Although the scoring didn’t come right away like it did in game one of this series, but when it did, it came in bunches. The Twins scored four in the sixth inning, and then followed that up with a four-spot in the seventh. The Twins picked up their 33rd win and now sit at 33-27 on the season, and jumped the Guardians to move back into second place in the AL Central. Minnesota now sits 6 GB of the Detroit Tigers.
Minnesota can win the four-game series tonight against the A’s at 9:05 CT on KGFX 1060 AM and 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
