The Twins have hit their way out of a little offensive slump they were in prior to this series against the Athletics. But in the last three games they have used the A’s as a proverbial punching bag scoring 26 combined runs. After back-to-back ten run games, the Twins scored six more in their 6-1 victory last night and did it with the long ball again. Ryan Jeffers and Harrison Bader both went deep for Minnesota, Jeffers hitting his 414 ft in the first inning and Bader’s coming in the fifth which scored two. It was all insurance after that as the Twins added a few more in the eighth and the ninth for good measure.
The Twins will go for the series sweep today at 2:35 CT on KGFX 1060 AM or 103.1 FM in the Pierre area. David Festa will get the nod for the Twins, Mitch Spence will go for the A’s. Minnesota sits at 34-27 and still sit 6 GB of the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central.
