MOBRIDGE, S.D. – The Mobridge-Pollock Lady Tigers down the Timber Lake Panthers 58-13 Friday for their home opener inside Mobridge-Pollock high school. In their last game before winter break the Lady Tigers lead from beginning to end with stifling defense and fast paced offense to advance to 3-0 on their young season.
Mobridge-Pollock had many impressive performers in the win, Tegan Konold had her most dominant performance of the season, Blake Thompson was almost automatic from three, Faith Heil, Jacy Netterville, and Brooke Bain all played strong throughout the game, but as the game progressed with the lead the Lady Tigers had we got a chance to see more quality minutes from some of the important bench pieces. Ellie Kemnitz, Jayda Thompson, Jersey Frederick, Layna LeBeaux, Shayla Rath all playing quality minutes in this one but someone who has stood out in the early going of this season and continued to look good in the expanded role today was our Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game Cheyenne Rath.
The first quarter of this game got started quickly with the Lady Tiger getting out to an early 3-0 lead and the pace never slowed from there as Mobridge-Pollock kept their foot on the gas to lead 30-0 after one quarter. In the second quarter Timber Lake finally got on the score board but the Lady Tiger defense continued to prove to be too much to make a dent into the lead as Mobridge-Pollock led 43-4 going into half time. In the second half the game got a lot closer with Timber Lake setting up some better offensive positions but with the running clock it would not be enough to launch a comeback effort as the Lady Tigers held on and secured the 58-13 win in their home opener.
In their next time out Mobridge-Pollock will take on Hamlin at the Northern State University Showcase Tuesday, December 30 for their fourth game of the season starting around 6:30 p.m.

MOBRIDGE, S.D. – The Mobridge-Pollock Tigers down the Timber Lake Panthers 79-73 to get their first win of the season in their season opener. In a back and forth contest the Tigers ended the game good down the stretch advancing to 1-1 on the season.
Both squads had very impressive performances in this one but standing out especially along the perimeter and at the free throw line in the second half was our Riverside Home Furnishing Player of the Game Kyson Good Shield. Many other players for the Tigers also had good games including some guys making their first varsity appearances for the season off the bench like Kadin Kuhel, Dylan Fjeldheim, Bryson Andrews, and making arguably the most important shot of the game towards the end Tyral Bleyle.
The first half of this contest similar to the season opening loss to Sisseton was a back and forth affair with both teams playing a very similar high paced style of offense. Going into halftime the game was close, 35-34 with both teams having stretches of hot and cold. Into the second half the Tigers started to push the pace even more, getting into the bonus early in the fourth quarter. This proved to be crucial for the Tigers who looked good from the line finally starting to build a lead, and the dagger in this one came with around a minute left when Tyral Bleyle put up a right wing three to essentially squash any comeback efforts as the Tigers earn the 79-73 win.
In their next time out Mobridge-Pollock will travel to take on Aberdeen Roncalli Saturday, December 20 for their last game before winter break starting at 5:30 p.m.
