The Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center in Pierre will have a new executive director in February.
The Board of Directors has selected Shelby Bergeson to fill the role that will be vacated by current Executive Director Sarah Reinhart Jan. 30, 2026.
Missouri Shores Board President Jessica Carr said with prior experience as the Client Services Supervisor as well as experience in the nonprofit sector, Bergeson brings valuable insight and a deep commitment to the mission of Missouri Shores. She said the Board also extends their sincere thanks to Reinhart for her years of dedicated leadership and lasting contributions to our organization and community.
With a background in Early Childhood Education, Bergeson began her career at Missouri Shores as the Child Advocate in 2019. She was promoted to the Client Services Supervisor after showing exceptional leadership skills and has played a critical role in planning and organizing the annual Gala of Hope. Bergeson has demonstrated excellent leadership while supervising staff and volunteers, and has advocated for policy change at the state and national levels.
Reinhart said Bergeson has shown a level of passion and dedication for victim service work that is hard to find. She said she’s enjoyed working alongside her and she feels very confident leaving Missouri Shores in Bergeson’s hands.
Bergeson will begin in her new role on February 2, 2026.
