Temporary closure of segment of S. Pierce Street in Pierre scheduled to begin Wednesday

One block of South Pierce Street in Pierre will be temporarily closed for street reconstruction work beginning Wednesday (May 6, 2026).

The affected block is the area from Sully Avenue to Park Street. The work will mirror the improvements currently underway on East Erskine Street, including full street reconstruction to improve long-term durability and drivability. Sully Avenue and Park Street will not be affected by the closure and will remain open.

Weather permitting, the closure is expected to last up to three weeks.
