Pierre Outdoor Pool sees nearly 1000 visitors on Memorial Day; Summer Recreation activities, Rawlins summer reading program begin in June

The Pierre Outdoor Pool opened for the 2026 season on Memorial Day.

City Commissioner Matthew Reitzel said attendance numbers showed it was a strong opening day.

Reitzel said the first session of Pierre’s summer recreation activities starts June 8.

For Rawlins Municipal Library in Pierre, summer reading programs kick off June 1. This year’s theme is Unearth a Story: Back to the Age of Dinosaurs. Find the details at rawlinslibrary.org.
