Emergency management officials will hold another town hall meeting in Highmore tonight (June 30, 2026). The meeting begins at 7pm CT at the Hyde County Memorial Auditorium in Highmore.
According to the Hyde County SD Emergency Manager Facebook page, a QR code has been created for people in Highmore and the surrounding area to report their storm damage. More information about the QR code will be shared at the town hall meeting. People who aren’t familiar with using a QR code are encouraged to contact a family member, a teenager or a friend to help get their current information uploaded.
From the Hyde County Sheriff’s Office, anyone who has a family member, friend, or neighbor that you haven’t been able to reach and are concerned about, call the Office at 605-852-2513. Someone will conduct a welfare check to ensure the person or persons are safe.
Additionally,
- A donation center has been set up in the school parking lot across from the high school (410 Iowa Ave. S). It will be open until 5pm. Donations like water, sports drinks, sunscreen, bug spray, building materials, etc. are being accepted.
- A lost and found center has been set up in the south bay at the Highmore Fire Hall (100 Commercial Ave.). Items you find should be dropped of there.
A storm moved through the area around 6:15am Monday (June 29, 2026) causing extensive damage in Highmore and the surrounding area.
