Pierre Post 8 picked up two of their more impressive wins on the road in Watertown last night, winning game one 4-3 and game two 4-1 to extend their winning streak to four games. Not only is the win streak upheld, this makes for 11 wins in their last 13.
In game one Monday night, Pierre picked up a couple runs on a Carter Schiefelbein sacrifice fly paired with a defensive error. Schiefelbein would also earn the save on the mound after a great outing from Carter Templeton set up Post 8 for the victory.
In the 4-1 win in game two, singles from Will Eilers and Tripp Lindekugel would drive in crucial runs in the third inning to put Pierre ahead 3-1. On the bump, Will Danburg picked up the W allowing just four hits in five innings of work. Lindekugel and Eilers both collected two hits for Pierre as they rolled out of Watertown with the two-game sweep.
Pierre now seems to have turned a corner and is playing their best baseball of the year. Getting hot at the right time, it will be a busy end to the week and regular season with a handful of games coming Friday though Sunday. Friday night, Pierre will host Rock Island for two at 4:30 PM CT and 7:00.
