July 13, 2026:
A 63 year old woman from Reliance, South Dakota, died Thursday (July 9, 2026, at 6:47pm) in a two-vehicle crash near Lyman, South Dakota.
Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates Gayle V. Mohr, the driver of a 1998 Suzuki VDD51TON mini truck, was traveling southbound on 324th Avenue. At the same time, Collin James Hoffer, the driver of a 2006 Freightliner semi-truck, was traveling westbound on S.D. Highway 248. Mohr entered the intersection without stopping and collided with the Freightliner. She was ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. Hoffer was taken to a Chamberlain hospital with minor injuries. Neither person was wearing a seat belt.
The investigation is ongoing.

Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates the woman was driving a 1998 Suzuki mini truck southbound on 324th Avenue. At the same time, a 57 year old man from Reliance was driving a 2006 Freightliner semi-truck westbound on S.D. Highway 248. The Suzuki entered the intersection without stopping and collided with the Freightliner. The woman was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. The man was taken to a Chamberlain hospital with minor injuries. Neither person was wearing a seat belt.
