PIERRE, S.D. – Beginning this morning the pedestrian crossing at 4th Street and Euclid Avenue will temporarily move to 5th Street and Euclid Avenue in Pierre.
The estimated three-week long temporary move of the pedestrian crossing is necessary while the west side of the 4th Street and Euclid Avenue intersection is reconstructed.
Pedestrian signs and a crosswalk will be placed at 5th Street. Crossing guards will be present when school children are utilizing the intersection in the mornings and afternoons.
Commuters should reduce their speed when traveling through the work zone and be alert for pedestrians, construction workers, and construction equipment.
