Charles Mix County, S.D.- A Nebraska man died Thursday in a single vehicle vs tractor crash near Wagner, South Dakota.
Names of those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2010 John Deere farm tractor was traveling westbound on SD 46 near mile marker 298 while pulling a loaded grain drill. As he was crossing the bridge at the Charles Mix and Bon Homme County line, the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado crested the hill traveling eastbound at the same location. The driver of the John Deere attempted to move the tractor off the roadway into the north ditch. The Chevrolet struck the tractor. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the John Deere was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing. The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
