FORT MYERS, FL – Byron Buxton hit three-run and solo homers and Carlos Correa also homered Friday as the Minnesota Twins held on to defeat the Atlanta Braves 8-7 in a spring training game at Hammond Stadium.
Buxton hit a solo homer in the first inning and a three-run home run in the fourth inning. Correa hit his second home run of the spring and Ryan Jeffers homered for the second time in as many days.
Recently-acquired Chris Archer made his first start for Minnesota (6-9), giving up three runs and five hits in two and two-thirds innings.
The Twins will face Tampa Bay Saturday in Port Charlotte, Florida.
