DRG honoring Joan Simons 50th workiversary

UPDATE:

We finally got to celebrate Joan Simons Day on Thursday (Jan. 19, 2023)! For all she has done for our radio stations, we are so very thankful.

Cheers to 50 years Joan! You are truly an example of changing with the times and making the work environment fun for all of us.

JANUARY 8, 2023:

Sunday (Jan. 8, 2023) is a milestone day for one member of the DRG Media Group family.

Office Manager Joan Simons will have worked for DRG for 50 years and the day has been declared “Joan Simons Day” in Pierre!

Radio Station General Manager Diane Deis says, “That kind of dedication is admirable and an amazing quality in life. We are so grateful to have Joan’s work knowledge and commend her for sticking with us through thick and thin. Through all the station adds and format changes, technology changes, platform changes etc that she has worked through and helped guide the rest of the staff through. Joan is a gem I’m here to tell you!”

While Simons has cut back on her time in the office the past few years, she is not retiring just yet. Simons continues to play a key role in keeping the DRG Media Group radio stations on the air and running efficiently.

CONGRATULATIONS ON 50 YEARS WITH DRG JOAN!! Here’s to more years of working together!
