JUNE 29, 2023:
The Capital Area United Way will kickoff this year’s fundraising campaign with a “Day of Caring” July 29, 2023.
Executive Director Holly Wade says the vision for the Day of Caring is to partner volunteers with local non-profits. She says they know there are tasks that these organizations want to do, so some extra helping hands can make a big difference.
Wade says United Way will coordinate teams of volunteers, then they’ll be matched with a project or two. She says the projects are things that can be done in a short period of time.
Any group that would like to help the morning of July 29 can contact Capital Area United Way at director@capareaunitedway.org to register themselves or their team. Each volunteer will receive a t-shirt and lunch.
Following the volunteer effort, people will gather at noon for lunch and the campaign at the Pat Duffy Community Center in Fort Pierre. During the kickoff, this year’s campaign co-chairs and fundraising goal will be announced. The public is invited to attend.
Capital Area United Way’s sponsors for Day of Caring include Anderson Dental, Beck Motor Company, Cathy Sonneschein Properties, Delta Dental, First Dakota National Bank, Hermanson Endodontics, M&R Signs and Swensen & Cowan Dentistry.
