As expected, with new faces comes growing pains. The Zap experienced some of those trials and tribulations in the onset of the summer season. However, much like last year when the Zap made a second half run to the Championship Series, the month of July is when the team really hit their stride. It is hard to find commonality when you bring in a plethora of new players into an organization and ask them to hit the ground running. Though when you get comfortable in your environment you see the dominance the Zap have found over the last seven games.
The Zap picked up another win on the road Thursday night, beating the Casper Spuds 16-8 and taking three out of four in the series. The offensive catalyst in the win was Connor Goldberg who picked up four hits including two singles, a double and a triple. This comes after the Zap outscored the Capital City Aviators 47-2 in their recent home series. Last night’s win marks the third in a row for Oahe and 7 wins in their last 8 games. They look to build on this hot stretch this holiday weekend welcoming the Aviators back in for a three-game series.
Tonight’s contest will get underway at 6:05 PM CT, coverage beginning at 6:00 PM on River 92.7 and streaming live on DRGnews.com/River.
