Hughes County will begin a construction project on West Bend Road at the end of the month (July 31, 2023, at 8am).
Highway Superintendent Trent Arbach (r-bock) says the project, aimed at improving the quality and capacity of West Bend Road, will address longstanding issues such as deteriorated road conditions and potential safety concerns. He says the existing road surface will be milled, graveled and graded providing a smoother driving experience and reducing wear and tear on vehicles.
Construction will be carried out in phases to minimize disruptions to local traffic and residents. One side of the road will be completed at a time and is expected to take one day. Signage will be placed throughout the construction zone to guide motorists safely and efficiently.
Arbach says there may be temporary delays associated with the work and thanks the public in advance for their understanding and cooperation. He says the top priority is to complete the project in a timely manner and with minimal disruption to daily activities.
Any updates will be provided through the Hughes County social media channels and local news outlets.
