Land use and conservation to be featured topics at tonight’s Discovery on Tap! event

The South Dakota Discovery Center is hosting a Discovery On Tap! event tonight (July 21, 2023) from 5:30-7:30pm at the St. Charles Lounge in Pierre (207 E Capitol Avenue).

Agronomist Brian Chatham and Biologist Cassie Auxt of South Dakota Ducks Unlimited will share how the historical landscape uses of our region and significant changes over the last century have influenced ecosystems, ultimately molding modern habitat conservation work. They’ll discuss factors such as agricultural practices and human population growth.

Attendees will participate in a soil health demonstration by using a rainfall simulator.
