Clifford Marvin Johnson, 68, was born July 27, 1955 at Redfield, South Dakota, to Marvin Harry Johnson and Barbara Helen McVay Johnson. He died September 25, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre, SD. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2023, 2:00 PM at Feigum Funeral Home in Pierre, with burial at Scotty Philip Cemetery in Ft. Pierre.
Clifford moved to the Pierre/Ft. Pierre area with his family and attended school in Fort Pierre. Clifford worked many manual labor jobs throughout his lifetime. He worked at a salvage yard in Redfield, SD, Linton Microwave in Sioux Falls, SD, and Mortan Buildings. His last job was at Walmart as a cart retriever, until his diabetes put limitations on his health, and he had to retire in 2015.
He enjoyed fishing, car races, going to coin and baseball card trading shows. He enjoyed going out to super, and listening to karaoke. Clifford especially enjoyed family gatherings and talking about the days gone by and all the people he had met or with whom he attended school. He was always willing to help anyone, when he was able. Clifford was quite a story teller, and would make you wonder at some of his stories.
Clifford was married to Mary Ann Trygstad, Apr 8, 1978, in Volga, SD. To this union were born two sons, Joshua and Jacob. They later divorced and Clifford moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
Clifford is survived by his sons Josh and Sara Johnson, Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Jacob and Angela Johnson, Haven, Kansas; grandchildren: Caden, Alayna, Garret and Corbin, Deanna, Michael and Ellean Johnson; siblings: Pat and Dave Miller, Groton, Linda Sullivan, Pierre, Diane Johnson, Pierre, David Johnson, Sioux Falls, Monte and (Darlene Roberts) Johnson, Sioux Falls, Donna Carda, Pierre, and Sheryl Johnson, Pierre, aunts Carol Zuber, Ft. Pierre, Hiedie O’Daniel, Ft. Pierre, and Lori O’Daniel, Ft. Pierre, along with numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins, and numerous friends he’s met through his travels. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Jennifer Davis and Deborah Johnson, and grandnephew Joseph Serbousek.
