PIERRE – Ryann Barry dropped a season high 27 points to lead the Pierre Governor girls basketball team to an easy win as they topped Brookings, 61-39, Tuesday night (Feb. 13, 2024) at Riggs High Gym.
Barry nailed five 3-pointers and Lennix Dupris added four more on her way to 17 points to help the cause. The Govs trailed 9-7 early, but their pressure defense made things difficult for the Bobcats, and Pierre took a 31-16 lead by halftime. Brookings started the third quarter with a rally to cut the deficit to 33-25, but the Govs put the threat away with a 10-point run of their own from that point. Reese Terwilliger added 12 points on Senior Night.
The Governors improved to 12-5 on the season and will head to Mitchell on Friday night for a matchup against the second-ranked Kernels.
