One of the most highly anticipated days out of the year for football fans, especially fans of college football, is the release of the AP Top 25 polls. The AP serves as the benchmark of rankings until the CFB Playoff Committee takes over on October 31st. Why do football fans get so excited for this release? It means we are dangerously close to Saturdays filled with football from 11 am until Sunday morning at 1:30 am when you are watching Hawaii and Nevada play a nailbiter game in front of 2,000 fans. Football is back, and we could not be more thrilled.
In this year’s preseason poll, we don’t have many shockers. Everyone knew Georgia would likely round out the top of the poll with OSU hot on their tail. Miami cracking the top 20 was the only truly big surprise none of us saw coming.
