The Govs are playing very important basketball games at this point of the season. Coming into tonight’s road matchup against the Harrisburg Tigers, both teams looked to move one game above .500, and both in search of a crucial win as they each make a push for the postseason. Coming off a loss to the undefeated O’Gorman Lady Knights, it felt like Groundhog Day for the Govs as they were back in Sioux Falls for the second time in four days. The only difference was they took an early lead and never gave it back.
Lennix DuPris hit a rhythm early in the second quarter, scoring 7-straight points to complete her first half performance of 13. DuPris found solace in the paint as she dominated the second half as well and finishing the game with a game leading 20 points. Gravelyn Taylor also got in a groove and finished with double-digits scoring 12. The Govs got a lift defensively with the return of Grace Richter who missed the last game due to a head-injury, as she was able to give valuable minutes in the victory.
The Govs will head home to take on Yankton for Senior Night Friday the 7th at 7:00 pm.
