South Dakota Housing will begin accepting applications today (April 15, 2026) for funding from the Housing Opportunity Fund program.
The Housing Opportunity Fund is designed to support new construction, rehabilitation, or the purchase and rehabilitation of rental or homeownership housing. Only applications for housing development will be accepted during this application cycle.
This open funding is available to any tribal government, housing authority, nonprofit or for-profit group, or subdivision of a South Dakota state government agency. Projects will be considered for funding on a first come, first serve basis as applications are deemed complete.
Complete applications for the Housing Opportunity Fund program will be accepted starting April 15, 2026, and must be received by South Dakota Housing no later than Aug. 31, at 5pm CT.
The program allocation plan, funding limitations and the application form can be found on SD Housing’s website, www.sdhousing.org.
