South Dakota’s Tourism Advertising Promotion– or TAP– Grant Fund has divvied up a total of $200,000 between 40 different tourism-related projects and events statewide– including some in central South Dakota.
The purpose of the TAP Grant program is to provide marketing funds for tourism-related events such as festivals, concerts, rodeos and powwows. The TAP Grant program is focused on providing funding to events in smaller towns, cities and rural areas of the state, but entities and events of all sizes received grants ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. The investments are aimed at encouraging visitors to stay in South Dakota longer and to spend more money while they’re here, benefiting local economies.
