Pierre School Board approves increase for hourly substitute teachers, half-day and daily pay scale to remain the same

Some people who substitute teach in the Pierre School District will see a little bigger paycheck in the 2026-27 school year.

Business manager Travis Dovre says the hourly rate will increase by one percent, but the half-day and daily rates will remain the same as they currently are.

The school board unanimously approved the proposed pay scale during its meeting this week (May 11, 2026).
