The South Dakota Discovery Center in Pierre is celebrating World Bee Day this afternoon (May 20, 2026) with the grand opening of its brand-new Observation Hive.
In addition to observing the gentle bee species living in the Hive, attendees can explore the other bug-related exhibits and do hands-on activities led by STEM Educators.
From 1-5pm CT admission is free, thanks to the Pierre-Fort Pierre Rotary Club.
The new Observation Hive is sponsored by the South Dakota Agricultural Foundation.
