More than 350 Hughes County voters have either requested to receive their ballot by mail or have absentee voted for South Dakota’s June 2, 2026, primary election.
That’s according to County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva as of mid-afternoon on Tuesday.
Oliva said the amount of early voting so far might be a little more than is typical for a primary election.
In preparation for the primary election, Oliva said all election officials in South Dakota took part in a mock election event on Tuesday.
Oliva said a public test of Hughes County’s vote tabulating system will be conducted May 27 at 9am at the courthouse in Pierre.
