It’s three wins in a row for Post 8, but three is a streak! Legion varsity picked up two wins at home last night to climb closer to a .500 record and cap off their week of play with two wins.
They faced Smittys Legion 2026 Aberdeen and won game won 10-6 then followed that up with a 2-1 win in game two. In game one, Carter Schiefelbein went a perfect 3-for-3 which consisted of two singles and a homerun. Porter Hunsley helped break up a tie ballgame in the fourth inning, after that, the offensive explosion occurred.
In the fifth inning, Jackson Goodman singled scoring a run, Ryker Edson singled to clear the bases and score three runs (assisted by an error), and Schiefelbein’s homer capped off the big inning. Will Danburg picked up the win on the mound for Post 8.
In game two, it was a pitcher’s duel that saw Hudson Shaffer record 15 outs on the bump. After Aberdeen took the lead, Hudson Stoeser tied the game with a third inning single. The game winning run came off a sac-fly from Porter Hunsley as Post 8 would go on to win 2-1.
Pierre will be off for the weekend but will return on Tuesday for an afternoon doubleheader versus Mitchell.
