Discharging fireworks is allowed in Fort Pierre from June 29-July 5, 2026, but only certain types of fireworks and only during certain hours.
In Fort Pierre, no bottle rockets less than 14 inches in total length or with a rocket motor length of less than two inches are allowed. No sky lanterns of any type or size are allowed.
Additionally, water should always be readily available. Even legal fireworks can cause an accidental structure or grass fire.
