Beginning today (July 14, 2026), a two-block segment of Second Street in Pierre has been closed to through traffic to allow crews to complete curb and gutter improvements.
The temporary closure between Central Avenue and Poplar Avenue is expected to remain in place for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.
Residents who live within the closure area will continue to have access to their properties, but other motorists should avoid the area and use alternate routes whenever possible.
The City of Pierre appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this work is completed.
