One of South Dakota Golf Association members favorite weekend of the year is State Match Play Championships. It is one of the most competitive and most exciting events the SDGA hosts, and this year it is being held at Moccasin Creek Country Club in Aberdeen. Some inclement weather forced delays, however, after the rain moved out it was perfect golf weather for Friday’s rounds.
All players are guaranteed three rounds this week into the weekend, with championships being played on Sunday. State match play always brings out some of the best players from all age groups. Some of the top high school players get to compete with current and former collegiate golfers along with amateurs looking to test their game.
Below, you will see the updated brackets after the first few rounds. The men’s pod started on Thursday and concluded today. The women’s bracket played rounds one and two today. The men’s bracket below will show you who moved on to the next round and who was cut. The women’s third round will be played tomorrow morning with cuts to be made and golf to be played afterwards.
The numbers next to players name signify how many matches they won. If there is a ‘.5’ attached, it means the player halved the match.
