The City of Fort Pierre will go back on a temporary no lawn watering restriction for all system users, effective Monday (August 17, 2026) at 5pm CT, and remaining in effect until further notice.
Mni Wiconi will be repairing the third leak on their line that serves Fort Pierre, so the water will be shut off to the town and customers will be using water from Fort Pierre’s storage water supply.
The no lawn watering restriction is put in place to minimize potential issues with supply, including fire protection. Fort Pierre water customers are also asked to limit all unnecessary water usage while the restriction is in effect.
