Georgia Morse Middle School in Pierre dismissing early today due to air conditioner not working

Georgia Morse Middle School in Pierre will be dismissing students at 12:30pm today (Aug. 21, 2026) because the air conditioning system went down overnight.

District Superintendent Dr. Donavan DeBoer says the temperature is comfortable this morning, but is expected to rise as it gets warmer outside.

This early release applies only to Georgia Morse Middle School. All other Pierre schools will have a regular schedule today and be released at their normal time.
