More storms possible at Grand Canyon where a flash flood killed 1 person and left 15 missing

GRAND CANYON VILLAGE, Ariz. (AP) — More storms and flooding are possible at the Grand Canyon where a major flash flood left one person dead and about 15 more missing. Scores of visitors were evacuated after heavy rain caused water to rush through Bright Angel Creek on Saturday. Emergency water restrictions began Monday after the only water pipeline for tourists and residents in the canyon was destroyed. Tourists are barred from staying overnight at lodges and hotels inside the park and year-round residents must conserve water. The National Weather Service warned of an elevated risk of flash flooding through Monday. More than 60 people have been airlifted to safety.
