PIERRE, S.D. — September 14 th , 2026 — Capital Area United Way has officially kicked off its 2026–2027 Annual Campaign, “United Is the Way,” during the Pierre Governor football game.
The kickoff brought community members together to celebrate local impact and launch this year’s campaign, raising $8,005 through event sponsors and donations collected during the game.
Capital Area United Way’s goal this year is $595,000, supporting 15 local partner agencies and 4 community impact programs serving children, families and individuals throughout the Hughes & Stanley counties.
Through its 15 partner agencies, Capital Area United Way helps address critical needs including children and youth, family support, health and wellness, basic needs, education and opportunity.
United Way also invests directly in 4 community impact programs designed to address specific local needs: Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Delta Dental Mobile Bus, Girls on the Run and Lions Club Vision Screening.
