A steakhouse owner, cattle producers, grocery store owners, cattle and consumer advocacy groups and a politician got together today (June 25, 2021) in Fort Pierre for a panel discussion on the pricing crisis in the beef industry.
Eric Iversen is a rancher from the White River area. He says it’s important for producers to get more connected to their consuming public.
R-CALF Region III Director and Gregory area rancher Brett Kenzy says the cattle pricing problem started with competition issues and has snowballed from there.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says it’s helpful to have perspectives from the various links in the food supply chain in one room, with one goal– finding a solution so all the links can be profitable.
