The Dakota Radio Group has presented a check for $1000 to Junior Achievement of Pierre and Fort Pierre.
DRG general manager Diane Deis says the radio station owners and staff genuinely care about the communities we serve. Donating to Junior Achievement is one way we can help make positive opportunities available for area youth.
Board president Matt Brakke says Junior Achievement volunteers teach students about important topics that may not be covered by school curriculum.
He says JA lessons meld well with the state’s current focus on the need to expand the workforce.
Brakke says both the Fort Pierre and Pierre communities are very supportive of Junior Achievement.
Junior Achievement will hold its annual fundraising Bowl-a-thon Jan. 24 at Lariat Lanes in Pierre. Cost is $375 per team of up to five people.

DRG employees Chuck Hanson (past) and John Sterling (current) have served on the JA Board.
