A 55-year-old man from Highmore died Saturday night (10:30pm Sept. 12, 2020) in a pedestrian-vehicle crash one mile west of Highmore involving South Dakota’s Attorney General.
Information from the state Highway Patrol says 44-year-old Jason Ravnsborg told the Hyde County Sheriff’s Office he’d been involved in a car-deer accident on US Highway 14. The pedestrian’s body was discovered yesterday morning. He’s been identified as 55-year-old Joseph Boever of Highmore.
Ravnsborg was not injured. He’s said he’s “shocked and filled with sorrow” following Saturday night’s events and is cooperating with investigators.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continue to investigate the crash with assistance from the North Dakota Attorney General’s Office due to possible conflicts of interest.
