Today’s (Oct. 23, 2020) update from the South Dakota Department of Health showed 1132 new confirmed cases and 53 new probable cases of COVID-19 in the state since yesterday.
In South Dakota there are:
• 9862 currently active cases
• 349 currently hospitalized
• 356 total deaths
Coronavirus patients currently occupy 13.2% of the staffed hospital beds in the state. Other patients are using 52.5% of the staffed beds leaving 34.3% available. Of the staffed intensive care unit beds in the state, COVID-19 patients are using 24.9%, other patients occupy 43.3% and 31.7% are available to be used.
