Mobridge Regional Hospital CEO John Ayoub addressed the Mobridge City Council Tuesday night regarding a letter he recently wrote updating them on Covid 19.
Ayoub was pleased to see the council members wearing masks during the meeting. He said seeing city officials setting the example sends a powerful message.
Dr. Brian Reiner, clinical director at the Youth Regional Treatment Facility, would like more collaboration between the city council, the school, and the hospital.
Council member Tony Yellow Boy recommends signage on city-owned buildings requiring the wearing of masks in order to enter.
This brought up more discussion on mask policies. City Administrator and Finance Officer Heather Beck said her concern is outside people coming in. Council member Jade Mound had this to say…
Also at the meeting Tuesday night –
Derek Stewart presented a municipal forestry development plan for planting trees along the city’s walking path and ideas for fundraising the project.
Public hearing was held for the approval of the transfer of a temporary malt beverage license for the upcoming ice fishing tournament. Council member Yellow Boy questioned why it was so late coming before the council. Jesse Konold, Tourism Chair for the Chamber, acknowledged the delay.
Konold went over the details of how the 2021 ice fishing tourney will be executed. Council approved.
Also approved during last night’s meeting –
the 2021 NECOG agreement;
the first reading of Ordinance 985 for supplemental appropriations;
budgeted capital outlay transfers;
a budgeted transfer out from PSAP to the General fund for the 911 center;
a close out of the airport land acquisition project;
serving sixty days’ notice to terminate the airport management contract; and
combining the parks and street departments.
Council member Kyle Jensen is working on project to convert a couple tennis courts into courts for Pickle Ball. He will have more information for the council at a future meeting.
The Mobridge City Council will have a special meeting on December 29th to finish up end of the year business.
