After taking last year off because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held in Pierre today (March 17).
Pierre-Fort Pierre Irish Club member Kevin Mershiem says parade lineup starts at 4:30 at the Georgia Morse Middle School parking lot.
Irish Club member Bill Molseed says because last year’s parade didn’t happen, Erin (Doyle) Bourk of Blunt will serve as this year’s grand marshal.
Irish Club and Pierre-Fort Pierre Lions Club member Gayle Mershiem says they are holding their annual Irish stew and Irish potato soup feed at the American Legion in Pierre.
She says this feed is the Lions Club’s biggest fundraiser.
Again, anyone is welcome to have an entry in the Pierre St. Patrick’s Day parade, just show up at the middle school parking lot by 4:30pm.
