The South Dakota Department of Health has opened up COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all of Group 1E in the state’s vaccination plan.
Dr. Mikel Holland is the President and Chief Medical Officer for Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre. He says if you aren’t sure if you’re eligible yet, resources are available.
Holland is hoping to see the age requirement go down to 16 years old in the near future.
The covid.sd.gov website shows 37% of South Dakotans having received at least 1-dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
