The City of Fort Pierre has issued a water restriction for all system users (March 23) until further notice, because of a leak in a main water line. Unnecessary water use should be limited until further notice.
The water line feeding Fort Pierre will be shut off today (Wed.) so the town will be using its storage water supply. The water restriction is put in place to minimize issues with supply during this time, including fire protection.
The Mni Wiconi Rural Water System will be conducting repairs in the Fort Pierre area today, so an interruption in water service may be experienced by the following rural water service providers and customers:
-
West River/Lyman-Jones Rural Water,
-
Lower Brule Rural Water,
-
Rosebud Rural Water and
-
Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Water Maintenance & Conservation.
Anyone with questions about how their service may be affected should contact their water provider.
