Fort Pierre resident Bob Ricketts has retired from the city council after over 40 years and people gathered to thank him at a reception yesterday (Wed.).
Ricketts’ family roots run deep in Fort Pierre.
Ricketts says he’s especially proud of being involved with the development of Fort Pierre’s infrastructure.
When many people retire, they travel to see different places, but not Ricketts. He and his wife Jean are staying put.
Ricketts’ combined 41 years on the Fort Pierre City Council makes him the longest serving council person in the town’s history.
