The SDSU Extension horticulture team will host its first Garden Hour program of the season this evening (May 4).
Garden Hour is a virtual program where SDSU Extension horticulture specialists answer the latest gardening and landscaping questions from across the state.
The program will be held Tuesdays from 7-8pm CST from May 4- Sept. 28. It will be hosted by Rhoda Burrows, SDSU Extension Horticulturist, and John Ball, Professor, SDSU Extension Forestry Specialist and South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources Forest Health Specialist.
South Dakotans are invited to join the online discussion as local horticulture assistants respond to calls and emails received in advance as well as inquiries submitted during the show. Participants can expect to receive individualized and research-based solutions on topics, such as plants, lawns, trees, insects and other horticulture questions.
There is no fee to attend, but participants will need to register for the weekly webinars on the SDSU Extension Events page. Confirmation Zoom links and reminders will be emailed to attendees. Garden Hour will be recorded and published on the SDSU Extension YouTube channel.
In addition to Garden Hour, the SDSU Extension Garden Hotline staff will be available to help state residents with their gardening questions this growing season. The service is free to South Dakota home gardeners.
