The Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area is celebrating the 80th annual National Boys & Girls Club Week this week (June 21-25, 2021).
Club director Becky Spoehr says research shows kids that attend their local Boys & Girls Club on a regular basis are also more likely to have positive self-esteem, volunteer and be engaged in school. She says during National Boys & Girls Club Week, they welcome community members to witness the amazing impact Clubs have on the lives of kids and teens.
Activities at the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area this week include:
- Monday: Whatever it takes to help kids stay on track: Robot Building Contest
- Tuesday: Whatever it takes to Mentor Tomorrow’s Leaders: Career Parade- Career Dress Up Day
- Wednesday: Whatever it takes to Support Health & Wellbeing: Swimming
- Thursday: Whatever it takes to Be Resilient: Obstacle Course Races
- Friday: Whatever it takes to Build Great Futures!: Club Blue Party/Virtual Tour
