A structure received minor damage from a grass fire in Fort Pierre yesterday (June 22) afternoon.
Volunteer Fire Department assistant chief Tye Odden says the call came around 1:30 CT to 1001 Sale Barn Road.
Odden says nearby structures weren’t damaged.
The fire started where someone had been welding outside, near the building.
According to Great Plains Fire Information, the Rubes CA Fire covered about one-tenth of an acre and was controlled in about 20 minutes.
