A federal judge has handed down the punishment to a 41 year old man from Harrold convicted of Assault Resulting in Substantial Bodily Injury to an Intimate Partner.
Ervin Yellow Robe was sentenced to 32 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.
The conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 1, 2020, in Big Bend, South Dakota, where Yellow Robe assaulted his intimate partner, breaking her nose.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Office of Justice Services, Crow Creek Agency. Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy R. Morley prosecuted the case.
Yellow Robe was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
