The Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature is scheduled to hold four days of budget hearings before the start of the 2022 session of the legislature.
That has the attention of Eric Olilla, the Executive Director of the South Dakota State Employees Organization.
Olilla says while the committee can’t take official action, they can set a prescient for how they will handing spending.
Olilla says the early sessions probably wont’ be able to be held next year.
The committee will meet today (Jan. 3, 2022), Tuesday and Wednesday this week and on Monday next week (Jan. 10). The session officially begins next Tuesday (Jan. 11).
