UPDATE FEBRUARY 8, 2022:
The Miller School District is still shut down after last week’s (Feb. 2, 2022) explosion and fire that started in the agriculture shop area.
Miller Fire Chief Steve Resel talks about the cause of the explosion.
Resel said the Miller School District complex– which houses grades K-12– will remain closed down until the investigation is complete.
He says no one is allowed inside the building to retrieve any items.
Resel said area churches have offered to help find space for school activities.
No one was injured in the explosion and fire. The explosion ignited a fire in the ceiling and while the roof is still intact, fire officials say it’s unstable. Sometime within the next two weeks, students in the elementary, middle and high schools will resume their classes at nearby churches.
